Charles is an extremely experienced Computer Auditor and Operational Business Systems Risk specialist. He has been active in all aspects of Computer Auditing at both Auditor and Management levels for over 25 years. He initially became involved with IT Audit in the British Customs & Excise Service in 1980 then in 1986 moved to Woolwich Building Society, a leading mortgage bank in the UK (later taken over by Barclays Bank) where he worked until mid 2002 (with a brief ‘career break’ at Standard Chartered Bank from December 1988 until June 1989). He was involved in all aspects of IT Audit, with periods of secondment, the most significant of which was an 18 month assignment to lead a project to implement Risk Profiling across 34 Business Units. Charles now works as an independent Trainer and Risk /Audit advisor. He has presented at training events and conferences in Europe, Africa, the Middle and Far East mainly on the topics if Computer Audit, Operational Risk, and IT Governance. He has been involved with ISACA since the early nineties and was London Chapter President from May 2002 until May 2004. He also served as a member of the ISACA International Membership Board from 2004 until 2007 and as a CObIT® reviewer maintains an active interest in CObIT and IT Governance.
