Head of Unit Reitox & International Cooperation, European Monitoring Centre for Drugs & Drug Addiction (EMCDDA)
Mr. Alexis Goosdeel is currently the Head of Unit “Reitox & International Cooperation” at the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs & Drug Addiction (EMCDDA). The EMCDDA is responsible for providing the European Institutions and the Member States with factual, objective, reliable and comparable information concerning drugs and drug addiction and their consequences. To do this job, the EMCDDA relies on a European network of national drugs observatories (Reitox ). Previous to this position, Mr. Goosdeel was the Director of a Belgian NGO, and worked for 6 years as the coordinator of an International Cooperation project for the Catholic University of Louvain (B). He is responsible for the strategic activities related to the coordination, strengthening and expansion of the Reitox network, as well as for the International Cooperation of the EMCDDA in general. Mr. Goosdeel was also the coordinator and the manager for many projects at national, European and international level. He has over 23 years experience in project management.
