Mr. Liakeas holds a degree in Mathematics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, an international MBA specialized in e-business from Athens University of Economics and Business and he is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Aegean, Department of Finance and Management Engineering working on the subject “Strategy and Business Models of Banks in Europe”. Mr. Liakeas started his career as a software developer and an instructor on IT subjects. He then moved to the Athens Stock Exchange as a Technical Advisor to the president.  Subsequently he moved to Saudi Arabia to join SETE Technical SA as the IT manager. He joined Eurobank Ergasias SA to lead a team for the Altamira project and was part of the team that launched the first versions of the e-banking service of Eurobank Ergasias SA. Later in his career he joined Microsoft Hellas as a senior consultant and a financial services industry specialist. Following the acquisition of Geniki Bank by Société Générale he joined the bank to build the Alternative Channels team and launched the e-banking and phone banking services for the bank. He then moved to Millennium Bank as the Remote Channels manager and since 2009 holds the CIO role for Eurolife ERB.
